The Agglomeration of Longueuil Police Department (ALPD) is leaving no stone unturned in its attempts to find 42-year-old Brossard resident Jian Pin Li, a woman of Chinese descent, and her baby, just 6 months old at the time, who both went missing under mysterious circumstances a little over a year ago.

As announced in the last edition of the Brossard Éclair, the ALPD set up a command post on the corners of Sabourin and Stravinsky, from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm on April 30th, to gather information that could help solve the case.

A team of 19 officers and detectives handed out leaflets to drivers to inform the public that the $20,000 reward from Jeunesse au Soleil was renewed. The team also went door-to-door with volunteers for the organization.

“We are trying to unearth information to help crack the case,” indicated ALPD spokesperson, Officer Mark David, who stated that, by lunchtime, several people had been met.

This is the 3rd time a command post is set up by the ALPD, which is supported in this investigation by the Sûreté du Québec and RCMP.

The Longueuil police do not have many clues to work with. Officially, the case is pegged as a disappearance but the possibility that a crime was committed seems more and more likely.

A Complete Mystery

Jiang Ping Li and her baby have not been seen or heard from since April 30, 2014. Her husband reported them missing upon his return to the family home around 2:30 pm the same day.

Stranger still… the woman left her personal effects, including money and bank cards, behind.

In the month following the disappearance, police searched the home of Jiang Ping Li from top to bottom. The backyard was churned up in search of clues to no avail.

A section of Mount St. Bruno and neighbouring quarry were searched with a fine-toothed comb and, again, nothing was found.

A video in Mandarin, with French subtitles, was even produced to reach the Asian community of Brossard.
